Dear Colleagues,
.
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 41st International Workshop on the Analytical Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence, which this year will take place in Portugal from the afternoon of Thursday, May 22, 2025 until the morning of Sunday, May 25.
We invite all analysts and IAAP candidates who work with children and adolescents, as well as those interested in better understanding infantile mechanisms in adult patients, to join us.
.
We would be grateful if the presidents of the societies would send this communication to all members and candidates authorized to work clinically.
.
We are going through times of change. People, countries and even the planet is in crisis. Everything is changing. The old models seem to be collapsing, but it’s still difficult to envision the New World, the one in which our children and teenagers will live. How can we, as analysts, help them transition through this phase? It is in this context that this year’s theme will be “How to maintain hope in the face of the abyss?”.
.
As usual, the workshop is limited to 40 participants. Participants will work in small groups, each day discussing a clinical case presented by one of them. Participants are included in groups where their mother tongue is not spoken, so that the resonance of the material is not limited to the expression of thought and verbal communication. The most valuable aspect of this lack of language proficiency in these case discussions lies in the openness to questions, debates, interpretations and theorizing offered by the clinical material.
.
Participants are invited to attend the entire workshop (registrations for just one day will not be accepted) and newcomers are asked not to present clinical material. Candidates in training are welcome, as long as they are introduced by an active member of their Society (they must attach a introduction to their registration written by the society member).
.
We enclose the program and more information about registering for the workshop.
.
We are looking forward to this meeting, which we hope, like the previous 40, will be welcoming and rich in creativity and intellectual stimulation. We look forward to welcoming you to Ferreira do Zêzere with open arms.
.
.
Best regards,
.
